How to Get More Value From Your First Healthier SG Enrolment Visit

Signing up with a Healthier SG family clinic is a smart move. But many people leave their first enrolment visit without using it fully. A little prep goes a long way.

What Happens at Your First Visit

Your enrolment visit is more than just paperwork. Your doctor will review your health history, check your current health status, and create a health plan just for you. This visit sets the tone for your ongoing care. Treat it seriously.

    Bring the Right Documents

Come prepared. Bring your NRIC, a list of any current medications, and notes on past health conditions. If you have had recent blood tests or scans, bring those too.

Your Healthier SG family clinic doctor needs a full picture of your health. The more you share, the better your care plan will be.

Make the Most of Your Subsidised Screenings

One of the biggest benefits of Healthier SG is free or subsidised health screenings. These include checks for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and colorectal cancer for those aged 50 and above.

Ask your doctor which screenings you qualify for at your first visit. Don’t wait to be told – ask directly.

    Know Your Chronic Condition Coverage

If you have a long-term condition like diabetes or hypertension, Healthier SG covers your follow-up care at your enrolled clinic. This includes consultations and some medications at subsidised rates.

Check what is covered before you leave the clinic. Ask the front desk for a summary if needed.

    Ask the Right Questions

Many patients feel rushed during doctor visits. You don’t have to be. Prepare two or three questions before your appointment. Good ones to ask:

    • What screenings should I do this year?
    • Are my current medications covered?
    • How often should I come back?

Writing your questions down helps. You will not forget them when you’re in the room.

Use HealthHub to Stay on Track

After your visit, log in to the HealthHub app. You can see your health plan, upcoming screenings, and appointment history. It also sends reminders so you don’t miss anything.

Linking your enrolment to HealthHub makes managing your health much easier.

    Don’t Skip the Follow-Up

Your first visit is just the start. Your doctor may recommend a follow-up in three to six months. Keep that appointment. Consistency is what makes Healthier SG work for you.

If your health plan includes lifestyle goals like losing weight or exercising more, your clinic can refer you to community programmes. These are often free or low-cost for enrolled patients.

Your Healthier SG family clinic is there to support you, not just treat you when you’re sick. Use every visit to its full potential, and your health will be better for it.
