Acne is a bothersome condition that leaves behind scars on the face and other body parts. These scars can sometimes be stubborn and affect the way you look. It, in turn, affects your self-esteem and lowers your self-confidence too. However, acne scars can be treated using medical procedures that are offered by Clinicare Brossard acne treatment, depending on your skin type and the extent and type of scarring. Acne scars types:

    • Atrophic scars: These scars look like small pit-like spots on the skin as the skin produces fewer fibroblasts while healing.
    • Hypertrophic scars: These are raised scars on the skin as the skin produces much more fibroblasts while healing than required.
    • Keloid scars: These are thicker and darker scars due to hyperpigmentation.

Soft tissue fillers: Dermatologists use soft tissue fillers to treat atrophic scars. It involves injecting fillers like collagen-based products, silicon, hyaluronic acid, poly-L-lactic acid, and other substances under the skin. The fillers plump the skin over the scars and make the scar less noticeable. This treatment might not work in the first sitting but will need repeat treatments.

Chemical peels: This procedure is used to treat scars on the surface level. The dermatologist applies a chemical solution that causes the skin to blister and peel off. The old skin peels off, along with minimizing the acne scars. It allows new skin to grow, which is healthier and smoother than before. This method is also used to treat sun-damaged skin and skin pigmentation.

Dermabrasion: Dermatologists use this procedure to treat patients with severe scarring. It completely removes the surface scars, and any deeper scars become faded. In this procedure, the doctor removes the top layer of the skin like a chemical peel, but instead of a chemical solution, a mechanical instrument or rotating brush is used.

Microneedling: This procedure is also called collagen induction. The dermatologist uses a roller device with small needles on it. The doctor uses the device on your skin to create pin-pricks on the skin surface that stimulate collagen production and makes the skin healthier. It also requires repeated treatments and can be paired with laser therapy for better results.

    Conclusion

Acne scars can cause frustration and consciousness. Home remedies can also treat these scars, but you cannot reduce them completely. Talk to a dermat who will prescribe effective over-the-counter medicines and suggest effective cosmetic procedures to treat this condition. A healthier and smoother skin is an asset.
