Your dentist will be able to help you with almost anything dental problems. But since there are so many different dental issues that can happen, it can be hard to figure out which ones are truly considered ‘emergencies.’ Do you need to see your dentist right away? Or is it possible to wait a day? If you’re not sure what is urgent and what can wait, then take a look at these dental concerns as they need immediate calls for an emergency dentist Brisbane.

    Pain After Broken Tooth

A broken tooth should not be taken for granted but there are instances when it’s not a case of urgency. If it’s just a little chipped and it’s not painful, you don’t need to call an emergency dentist. However, when it hurts a lot, then getting dental care as soon as possible is crucial. If you knock off a tooth, make sure to place it in a cup of milk. This can save the tooth.

    Persistent Pain

Usually, unexplained and persistent tooth pain is a sign of gum disease. You can try home or over the counter medications to ease the pain, and that will only work for a time. However, if the pain doesn’t go away or when it gets worse, call your dentist right away. The last thing you want is to suffer from severe symptoms of infection like fever, sensitivity, and facial puffiness.

    Bleeding Gums

Gums can bleed from time to time. But it will stop after a couple of minutes and that is nothing to worry about. However, if the bleeding continues and you are experiencing pain or edema, you must consult your dentist right away. Most of the time, periodontal disease can cause unexplained bleeding and other symptoms.

    Unexplained Swelling

There are plenty of reasons why your mouth or jaw is swollen. It can be your lymph node swelling and may be caused by an infection. However, others can be caused by something more serious. If you have swelling in your mouth or gums, this is a dental emergency and should not be taken for granted. In this case, the best thing to do if you don’t know what causes your swelling, or when it only worsens over time, then make an appointment for an emergency dental appointment.

If you are experiencing any of these dental problems, you have to remember that it is very important that you see your dentist as soon as possible. Yes, you can cure the pain and discomfort with over the counter medications, but if it persists or when the symptoms only worsen, it is best to have it checked by a dentist. They would know what to do and how to help you.
